Working With Me

HOW THE PROCESS WORKS

1) Send me an email at help@ieditUK.co.uk if you would like to have a phone conversation or (if you would prefer) a video call to discuss the service that you require. I am also happy to communicate these matters over email as well, if that is more comfortable for you. During this time, you can outline the services that you require (whether proofreading or copy editing, or both). Once this has been decided, you can specify the issues that you want me to check for, as well as the issues that you wish me to ignore. These might include typos, wording of sentences, consistency of style, UK/US spellings etc. These perimeters will form the brief for the work required (please see stage (2) below). We can also discuss the time period that you wish to set for the project, which can be adjusted based on your needs—though this will depend on my workload.

2) Once you are happy to proceed, just upload your work via the submit form below. The only formats that are accepted are PDFs, Word Documents (.docx) and Word 97-2003 Documents (.doc). If you can, please include the brief in your document. This is essentially an outline of the work that wish me to complete, which would have been discussed prior to the commencement of this work (please see stage (1) above). If you cannot include this in your document, then please upload it as a separate document via the submission form.

3) During the work period, I may email you with questions regarding your work. These may include matters regarding points of clarification and/or matters that may not have been included in the brief. If you wish to ask me questions during the aforementioned period, then I am more than happy to read your emails and/or organise phone/video all conversations. For the latter, I will normally charge £15 per hour (25p per minute), but £5.00 per hour (8p per minute) for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

4) If for unforeseen circumstances the work requires more time than originally agreed, I will contact customers within the appropriate time and make sure that they all informed of the situation as well as the options available to them.

5) Finally, once completed, I will email the work back to you. Shortly thereafter I will email you an invoice for the work completed. This should consist of the price already agreed on beforehand, as well as (if necessary) additional charges for any follow-up conversations. My invoice will contain payment details.
